The inaugural “Clogging for a Cause” event held on June 2 at the King Central Park amphitheater drew a significant crowd, raising awareness and funds for the Stokes County Animal Shelter and Friends of Stokes Shelter. The free event showcased performances from three popular clogging companies, headlined by the nationally renowned Bailey Mountain Cloggers from Mars Hill University.

Event organizer and Bailey Mountain Cloggers Director, Danielle Plimpton, highlighted the team’s love for animals and their enthusiasm for supporting local shelters. Alongside the Bailey Mountain Cloggers, the CC Dance Company from Madison and Elite Feet Cloggers from Alamance County entertained the crowd, despite a brief afternoon shower. Attendees visited shelter tables, made donations, and met Spud, a shelter dog available for adoption. The event was a successful collaboration between the Stokes County Arts Council and local animal lovers, bringing attention to the shelters’ efforts and their need for community support.
