A confirmed case of tuberculosis (TB) has been reported at Eastern Randolph High School in Randolph County, North Carolina. The Randolph County Public Health system disclosed that the individual diagnosed with TB has not been present at the school since late April. Efforts are currently underway by health officials, in collaboration with the Randolph County School System and the State of North Carolina TB Consultants, to identify and notify anyone who may have been exposed.

Students and staff have been informed of the situation, and health leaders are taking necessary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of the school community. Tuberculosis, a potentially serious infectious disease, primarily affects the lungs and can spread through airborne droplets. The public is advised to stay informed and follow any guidance provided by health authorities.
