The Winston-Salem Symphony is set to enchant families once again with its popular family concert series, “Sleepover at the Museum,” on October 5 and 6 at the newly opened Kaleideum location in downtown Winston-Salem. This event brings Karen LeFrak’s award-winning children’s book to life, weaving together the magic of live music with a captivating story about Mason and his friends’ unforgettable museum adventure. Conducted by Music Director Michelle Merrill, the program is designed to engage both children and adults, combining fun with learning. Merrill shared her excitement, noting how special it is to create experiences where families can enjoy music and imagination together.

In addition to LeFrak’s Sleepover at the Museum, the concert will feature a variety of thrilling compositions, including circus-themed music by Czech composer Julius Fučík and lively selections from Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt. Families can expect a full afternoon of fun, with tickets also granting access to Kaleideum’s hands-on exhibits before or after the performance. Kaleideum, known for its innovative approach to learning through play, offers the perfect backdrop for this immersive experience.

The concerts will take place at 3 p.m. on both days at Kaleideum, located at 120 West Third Street in downtown Winston-Salem. Tickets start at $5 for Kaleideum members, and general public pricing is available online or through the Kaleideum box office.
