Guilford County residents will come together on October 5th for the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. This year’s walk will take place at First National Bank Field, with check-in starting at 9 a.m. and the opening ceremony at 10 a.m., followed by the walk at 10:30 a.m. Participants will honor those affected by Alzheimer’s through the Promise Garden ceremony, where they carry flowers representing their connection to the disease.

The Alzheimer’s Association – Western Carolina Chapter hosts 17 walks across North Carolina, aiming to support the 210,000 people living with Alzheimer’s in the state and their 373,000 caregivers. Guilford County alone has an Alzheimer’s prevalence rate of 12.6% among its senior population. To join the walk or learn more about sponsorship and volunteer opportunities, visit act.alz.org/Guilford or call 800-272-3900.
