According to the US Department of Transportation, North Carolina will receive a total of $109,024,196 over the next 5 years for the development and expansion of electric vehicle infrastructure.

The electric charging push is part of the Department of Transportation’s Justice40 initiative, which works to “address gaps in transportation infrastructure and public services” by allocating at least 40% of “benefits from federal investments to disadvantaged communities.”

For Fiscal Year 2022, North Carolina will receive $16.1M, and the values will increase yearly until FY 2026.
