Cumberland County Among Top-Ranking in NC for Business Investment

A recent study by SmartAsset has highlighted Cumberland County as a leading area for business investment in North Carolina. The study, which examined metrics such as business establishment growth, gross domestic product (GDP) growth, and new building permits, found Cumberland County to be the eighth highest in the state. The county has demonstrated significant economic development With a 16.46% business growth, a $6,584 increase in GDP per capita, and 5.40 new building permits per 1,000 homes.

Mecklenburg County took the top spot, followed by Wake, Guilford, Buncombe, Forsyth, New Hanover, and Durham counties. Union and Iredell counties rounded out the top ten. The study indicates that Cumberland County’s economic progress is part of a broader trend of growth in key regions of North Carolina, positioning the county as a vibrant hub for new businesses and investment opportunities.
