Cape Fear Distillery, located just outside Elizabethtown in Bladen County, is making waves in the rum industry with its innovative flavored rums. Known for its small-batch Cape Fear Rum with notes of coconut and butter, the distillery has expanded its lineup with four new rums, each inspired by different global regions and developed in partnership with North Carolina outdoor retailer Calcutta Outdoors.

The distillery’s unique offerings include a Caribbean-style spiced rum, a jalapeno-spiced rum inspired by Cabo San Lucas, a key lime rum featuring limes from Key West, and a coconut rum based on the Puerto Rican Christmas drink, coquito. Cape Fear Distillery was awarded North Carolina Flavored Rum Producer of the Year in April at the New York International Spirits Competition, further cementing its reputation as a key player in the spirits industry. Owner Alex Munroe plans to continue expanding distribution and exploring new global flavors.
